Thank You!

On behalf of the Society thank you for your interest in joining us!

Our beautiful village of Itchenor lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is also, in part, a Conservation Area. The Itchenor Society was formed by residents in 1989 to help with village conservation. Our first mission was  to oppose plans for another road into the village and the doubling of the size of the car park. Since then we have worked tirelessly to maintain the beauty of the village and support its amenities. For example, planting hedgerows and trees with guidance from the Harbour Conservancy and Parish Council, organizing working parties to maintain the village pond and many other interesting and worthwhile projects.

The Society also actively supports a variety of initiatives which directly or indirectly are of benefit to the village. It was instrumental in the production of the Village Design Statement and has raised funds through Village Fairs, Pig Roasts and its Summer Parties for St. Nicholas Church and the Memorial Hall. The majority of residents are members but our aim is to represent everyone in the village. The cost of membership is a nominal £10.00 per household but many members generously increase their subscription or make a donation.
